I was lucky enough to work for the Sirolli Institute and closely with Ernesto himself for several years. I believe his ‘leadership approach’ characterised by ‘shut up, listen and respond’ (easier said than done) offers us some interesting insights and challenges into the role of the leader in supporting bottom up development, change and community engagement aka civic enterprise. And the role of facilitation and facilitators, embedded in communities.
